What is Litigation Genius?

Litigation Genius is an AI assistant in your Firm Dashboard that helps you work through the files in a case. You ask questions in plain English, and it answers using your transcripts, exhibits, and any other documents you add.

How it works

When Steno completes a job for your firm, Litigation Genius creates a case and adds the transcript and marked exhibits to it. You can add more files to that case at any time, such as complaints, medical records, or discovery responses. Then you can ask questions about everything in the case at once. You don't need to pick which files to search.

Answers include citations so you can check where the information came from.

What's in each case

Every case has three sections.

  1. Overview displays a summary of the case, a timeline of events, and the parties involved. It updates as files are added.
  2. Chat is where you ask questions and get answers based on your case files.
  3. Files shows every document in the case and lets you upload more or connect Google Drive or Dropbox.

What you can use it for:

  1. Preparing for an upcoming deposition
  2. Getting caught up on a case you've just taken over
  3. Comparing what different witnesses said about the same issue
  4. Creating timelines and chronologies from documents in the case
  5. Finding where a term, name, or event shows up across the file

Uploading Files

You can add documents to a case by uploading them from your computer or by pulling them in from Google Drive or Dropbox. You can upload individual files or entire folders. For step-by-step instructions, see How to Upload Files to a Case in Litigation Genius

Litigation Genius accepts .txt, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx, .png, and .jpeg files. It also reads text inside scanned pages and images.

How to get started
