Does Steno Have a Cancellation Policy?

A Steno service must be canceled by 4:00 PM the business day before the service's original scheduled date to avoid potential cancellation fees.

Steno's cancellation policy states you must cancel your remote litigation or court reporting service by 4:00 PM the business day before your deposition or job was originally scheduled, within the time zone that the job was originally scheduled.*

Court reporting services canceled before 4:00 PM the business day before its scheduled date will not be subject to any fees. If you cancel a court reporting service after 4:00 PM, cancellation fees will apply.

Cancellation policy requirements for our interpreter services vary by language. Be sure to verify those guidelines with your Account Manager.

Consider This Cancellation Scenario for Additional Guidance

Let's say you want to cancel a deposition scheduled for 2:00 PM EST on October 10. You are then required under our cancellation policy to confirm your decision by 4:00 PM EST on October 9, assuming October 9 is the prior business day.

If you confirm your cancellation after 4:00 PM EST on October 9, you have missed the required cancellation deadline and are subject to cancellation fees.

*If a job is fully remote, the job must be canceled before 4:00pm of the time zone of the court in which the case is venued.
