Understand the different types of job services that Steno offers to our clients.
Steno provides comprehensive videography and technology support services to facilitate seamless legal proceedings. Depending on client needs, you may be assigned one or more of the following roles, each with distinct responsibilities.
Videographer
As a legal videographer, your primary responsibility is to capture high-quality video and audio recordings of legal proceedings.

You must ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to professional standards throughout the recording.

You must conduct legal read-ons and read-offs as required.

This service includes the production of our standard video edit for the ordering firm, which is completed by Steno's Editing Team.
Remote Videographer:
- The proceeding will be recorded through the remote videoconferencing platform.
- You may need to guide the deponent/witness to ensure a properly framed recording.
- You may also be asked to assist with exhibits using the Steno Connect App for Zoom.
In-Person Videographer:
- You must come prepared with your own A/V equipment to record a clear, well-lit shot of the deponent.
- You must also capture the audio of everyone in the room.

Remote Exhibit Assistant (REA)
A Remote Exhibit Assistant (REA) is an optional service that attorneys may add to the Videographer service or request as a stand-alone service.
If your job assignment includes acting as a REA, you will be tasked with managing exhibits using the Steno Connect App for Zoom on behalf of counsel.
REA Responsibilities:

Invite participants to Guest Mode and explain app functionality.

Upload and mark exhibits per the attorneys' instructions.

Present exhibits for all participants.

Save and mark annotated exhibits.
