A complete walkthrough of how to complete a Steno remote job.
Before the Job
Be sure you have complied with all of our remote guidelines stated within our Steno Legal Videography: Professional Standards & Technical Guide knowledge page.
Starting the Job
Read-Ons/Offs
Steno has established scripts for reading the proceeding on and off the record. Please see our Steno Videographer Read-On/Off Scripts knowledge page to review and download PDF versions of all of our Read-On and Read-Off scripts.
During the Job
The Video Worksheet
Steno has a video worksheet template for remote jobs. Please take a look our How to Complete the Steno Video Worksheet knowledge page to download and review our template and learn how to fill it out properly during your job.
Recording the Proceeding
For the recording, please start the Zoom cloud recording before you begin the read-on, and stop the recording after you state that the proceeding is off the record. Do this for each on-the-record session so that the cloud recordings will only contain on-the-record footage. Please ask for video orders on the record. Please keep a screen-recorded backup that stays recording for the entire deposition.
Steno will send you a booking email with how to gain host controls in your Steno-provided Zoom room. If you cannot gain host controls and therefore are unable to start the Zoom cloud recording, call our Steno Tech Line: (888) 404-0390.
After the Job
Submitting Your Materials
Guidelines and instructions on how to submit your video materials and bill us for the job are detailed in our Steno Billing & Materials Submission Guidelines page.
